Missouri Dental Association pushes back against WHO recommendation

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Dental Association and other are not going along with recommendations from the World Health Organization.

WHO says people should delay routine dental care because of the pandemic, but the MDA is siding with the American Dental Association, who is respectfully disagreeing with WHO's recommendation.

MDA Communications Director Melissa Albertson told KXCV/KRNW that they don't want people to neglect their own oral health care when it can be provided in a safe way.

Albertson adds that the ADA developed a return to work interim guidance toolkit to ensure that dentists and their teams provide patient care safely.
